Russia Mar CPI Up 0.6% On Month, 9.5% On Year


(RTTNews) – Russia’s consumer prices rose 0.6 percent month-on-month in March, taking the annual growth rate at 9.5 percent.
Monthly growth eased from 0.8 percent recorded in February. Food prices increased by 0.9 percent month-on-month and non-food prices rose by 0.5 percent.
Service charges grew by 0.3 percent. In March, Russia’s central bank left its benchmark refinancing rate unchanged at 8 percent, while raised the reserve requirement to contain inflationary pressures.Russia’s economy expanded 4.5 percent annually in the fourth quarter of 2010 following the 3.1 percent increase in the third quarter.
