MOSCOW, November 28 (RIA Novosti) – Russia has ended up near the bottom of the list on the Law Index 2012 released by the World Justice Project on Wednesday.
The WJP report covers 97 countries and jurisdictions, representing over 90 percent of the world’s population.
Russia placed 92 in Limited Government Powers; 71 in Absense of Corruption; 92 in Order and Security; 83 in Fundamental Rights; 74 in Open Government; 68 in Regulatory Enforcement; 65 in Civil Justice and 78 in Criminal Justice.
The WJP Rule of Law Index is an assessment tool that offers a comprehensive picture of adherence to the rule of law. The 2012 report is the third in an annual series.
“The report is a product of five years of intensive development, testing, and vetting – including interviewing 97,000 members of the general public and more than 2,500 experts,” the WJP said on its website.
