Russia Tops Eurovision Interactive Voting

Russia’s entrants in the Eurovision song contest, folk group Buranovskiye Babushki (Buranov Grannies) have won an interactive poll, scoring 211 votes.

Greece and Romania came second and third behind Russia in the first semifinal.

Ukraine, Sweden and Turkey are leading the second semis.

The ten winners of the semis will make it to the finals

The oldest member of the Buranovskiye Babushki band has turned 86. Russia finished 16th at Eurovision-2011.

The Eurovision 2012 contest will be held in Baku on May 22-26. Last year’s Eurovision winner was the Ell Nikki duet from Azerbaijan.
