BEIJING, July 13 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian-Chinese relations are not at the unprecedentedly high level, Russian Ambassador to China Sergei Razov said on Wednesday in an interview to Itar-Tass devoted to the tenth anniversary of the Russian-Chinese Treaty of Good Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation.
“This document [treaty] not only summed up all the positive achievements of that time, but also laid down major principles of cooperation for the future,” he said.
The diplomat stressed that the two sides really achieved an unprecedented progress in their contracts.
In his words, Russia and China fully resolved trans-border issues, reached high intensity of contacts between the heads of state, created an efficient mechanism of regular meetings between the prime ministers, including the network of various intergovernmental commission, sub-commissions and working groups, which embrace almost all spheres of interaction.
“In the conditions of dynamic changes in the modern world, the two countries are closely coordinating their stances and approaches to the comprehensive range of international and regional problems,” Razov said, adding that Russia and China are working out new joint initiatives.
Mutual trade is growing very dynamically, the ambassador reaffirmed. It was set a task to increase Russian-Chinese trade turnover to 100 billion U.S. dollars by 2015, and to 200 billion U.S. dollars by 2020, the Russian ambassador to China said, reaffirming that the indicator was at about 60 billion U.S. dollars in 2010.
