BISHKEK/JALAL-ABAD — A Russian citizen has died in southern Kyrgyzstan after what Kyrgyz authorities say was a beating by local police, RFE/RL’s Kyrgyz Service reports.
Dadamirza Kholmirzaev, who was of Uzbek origin, died in a Jalal-Abad regional hospital on August 9. According to the official autopsy, Kholmirzaev had cracked ribs and numerous severe injuries on his body.
