Russian coal for quake-ravaged Japan

Speaking to reporters in Moscow on Thursday, Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko said that Russian coal producers may soon increase shipments to Japan, hit by a devastating earthquake and a tsunami late last week.

The talks to this effect are expected in the coming days, Shmatko said, adding that Russia is also mulling supplying liquefied natural gas to Japan in 2015.
