MOSCOW, Aug 11 (PRIME) — Russias Federal Fund for Promoting Housing and Utilities Reform has officially confirmed that roughly 16 million square meters of the countrys housing is in a critical state, the funds General Director Konstantin Tsitsin said at a news conference Thursday.
Of the total, 10 million square meters is located in apartment blocks, Tsitsin also said, adding that the data was provided by regional authorities.
Tsitsin said that his comments were in reference to cases where housing was found to be in disrepair, and not to those classified as aging.
The housing fund focuses on housing repairs and the relocation of people living in dilapidated buildings.
