Russian rouble to strengthen, rates to rise

Russia’s currency, the rouble, will continue to strengthen against the dollar as demand for rouble-priced assets rises and the Central Bank is forced to raise interest rates to curb headline inflation.

Russia’s inflation woes are similar to those being faced in Brazil, India and China. Finance Ministers in Brazil and Russia have blamed much of their inflation problems on the loose monetary policy of the US.
