Russian TU-154 plane aborts flight due to malfunctions

A TU-154 passenger plane aborted a take-off in the southern Russian city of Krasnodar due to gear malfunction Thursday, local media reported.A crew of the plane, which belongs to the Gazpromavia airline, reported a malfunction in the craft’s gear while on the runway.There were 142 passengers onboard and none was hurt, reported Interfax news agency.The plane remained on the runway where the airport’s maintenance team has been mending the malfunction.Also on Thursday, a Mi-8 helicopter made an emergency landing near the town of Norilsk on polar Taimyr Peninsula after its engine failed in midair,…
