Russian Wildfires Shrink by 2,000 Hectares

The total area gripped by Fires in Russia has shrunk by 1,900 hectares overnight, the Emergencies Ministry said on Saturday morning.

 

“The number of wildfires has subsided by five,” a ministry spokesman said. The worst of the blazes are concentrated in Russia’s Siberian regions of Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Tuva, Khakassia and Irkutsk.

 

The Emergencies Ministry’s said that 174,720 people and over 39,000 vehicles are fighting the natural disaster in Russia.
