Russia’s Natalya Ishchenko has won the gold medal in the Technical Solo synchronized swimming event, at the 2011 Swimming World Championships in Shanghai, China.
“Basically I am pleased with my performance but it is too early to relax,” Ishchenko said, adding that there were still a lot of competition days left.
Ishchenko finished first with 98.300 points. Huang Xuechen of China was second with 96.500 and Andrea Fuentes of Spain won the bronze with 95.300.
Ishchenko became the world’s first-ever eleven-time world champion in synchronized swimming.
