MOSCOW, Aug 17 (PRIME) — Russian oil major Lukoil plans to withdraw from two of the companys three exploration projects on the Kazakh shelf of the Caspian Sea, Andrei Kirillov, director of Lukoil Overseas Kazakh unit, said Wednesday in an interview with the companys corporate newspaper.
Lukoil Overseas is the international division of Lukoil.
Speaking about the reasons behind the move, Kirillov said that sites geological exploration results had been disappointing.
As regards to the Atashsky and Tyub-Karagan projects, our expectations were not met and the projects are in the process of being shut down, he said.
