The United Nations Security Council on Friday recommended to the General Assembly to reelect Ban Ki-moon to a second term as Secretary General of the United Nations.
The Council’s 15 members unanimously adopted a resolution on reelecting Ban.
The Council recommended that Ban serve a second term starting on January 1, 2012, and ending on December 31, 2016, Ambassador Nelson Messone of Gabon, who holds the Council’s rotating presidency this month, told journalists.
