An 82-year-old woman was convicted in western Siberia for murdering a fellow villager in a fit of rage, local investigators said on Wednesday.
Maria Annikova killed the unnamed victim with several ax blows to the head earlier this year, the Altai Region branch of the Investigative Committee said. It did not specify what triggered the dispute.
Annikova pleaded guilty, but said she had no intention to kill, the committee said on its Web site.
However, forensic experts staged several psychological, medical and even genetic examinations to prove Annikova wrong, the report said. The woman was found guilty of murder and sentenced to four years in prison.
