Siberian Police Seize Designer Drugs Worth $2.6 Mln

KRASNOYARSK, March 28 (RIA Novosti) – Police officers in Russia’s Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk discovered a concealed stash of over 5.5 kilograms (12 lbs) of psychoactive so-called “designer” drugs, Anna Trutneva, a spokeswoman for the regional anti-drug agency, said on Thursday.

The hidden stash, located near a gas station, yielded three packages containing a powdered drug substance, she said.

“Expert analysis showed that they were synthetic drugs belonging to the JWH and PVP groups, commonly known as ‘designer’ drugs. They are mainly distributed among young people,” Trutneva said.

She said the confiscated drugs had a total weight of over 5.5 kilograms (12 lbs) and an estimated market value of 80 million rubles ($2.6 million).
