Sochi Olympics expenses would appear to have jumped as the government has been forced to provide extra multi-million dollar funding to cover guarantees previously issued by Olympstroi.
The total amount of the guarantees is to be decided upon by the Regional Development Ministry, but preliminary data suggest the sum of 123 billion rubles, Vedomosti reported.
The unified payment guarantee from the state is to cover 70 percent of obligations by the state-run corporation in charge of preparing the famed Soviet resort for holding the Winter Olympics in 2014.
