Russian carmaker Sollers and Japanese car giant Mazda Motor Corporation have a signed a memorandum of understanding with the intent to establish a joint venture based on the Sollers-Far East car plant in Russia’s Primorye Territory, Sollers said on Saturday.
The new company will supply cars for the Russian market, Sollers said in a statement.
“We are inspired by the fact that we will work with Mazda, one of the global leaders,” Sollers CEO Vadim Shvetsov said.
“I am sure that Mazda’s competencies and highly competitive product, and our unique experience in establishing industrial and logistics infrastructure in the following region will become the basis for the project, which is important not only for the Far East, but for all Russian consumers,” Shvetsov added.
Sollers is a Russian car company, providing a full scope of automobile services comprising all stages from manufacturing up to sales and maintenance services.
