Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is to hold talks with his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak next month, the Kremlin said on Monday.
“On November 2, 2011, Russian-Korean talks at the highest level will take place in St. Petersburg,” the statement read. “Medvedev and Lee Myung-bak will also take part in the opening of the second public forum ‘The Dialogue between Russia and the Republic of Korea.’”
In August, Medvedev met North Korean leader Kim Jong-il in Russia’s Siberia. Russia is seeking to construct a gas pipeline through North Korea to carry energy to the South. A railway link between Russia and North Korea was also opened earlier this month.
