Three intrepid explorers, who have completed their five-month space mission, have been welcomed home.
Their Soyuz spacecraft successfully landed in the snowy steppes of Kazakhstan on Wednesday, bringing its crew back to Earth.
Russian cosmonauts Aleksandr Kaleri and Oleg Skripochka as well as NASA’s Scott Kelly returned from the International Space Station.
The landing was closely monitored by search and rescue services, and the first of a new generation Soyuz craft was equipped with a digital navigation system.
The crew left the ISS saying goodbye to three others, who are due to return to Earth in about three months.
