Large-scale floods in several Sri Lanka provinces have claimed the lives of 11 people, while another 250,000 had to move to temporary camps. The disaster was caused by continuing heavy downpours which hit the country’s Eastern, Northern and North Central provinces over a month ago. The flooding destroyed nearly all rice crops, the Ministry of Agriculture said.
