BARNAUL, July 28 (Itar-Tass) —— Staff quantity of the police commandos will not be changed over the reform, Russia’s Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev told a meeting with the command staff of special forces of the Siberian Federal District on Thursday.
Presently, Special Forces Centres are organised in five regions: Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Tatarstan, the Altai and Novosibirsk, he said.
Redistribution of the police Special Forces will continue in spring of 2012, he added.
Following the meeting of Medvedev with the Zubr Special Forces Division in March, the ministry has followed the requests from the staff and supported the initiative regarding additional payments to high altitude snipers, explosives experts and a number of other special forces.
“We deal with missions on land, in air and underground” – Nurgaliyev said.
He appreciated the work of Special Forces in the North Caucasus region and drew attention of commanders to the task to minimise inconveniences of the staff in that region on a mission.
“They should receive paternal care from your side – the minister told the meeting. – It supports the necessary climate in the groups, helps to endure better the hardships of service and lack of family.”
