Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko may leave Tottenham in the next transfer period. His search for a new club comes after spending only a few minutes ’in play’ for his team this season.
A number of clubs including Fulham, Sunderland, QPR, Roma, Espanol and Porto have all expressed an interest in the player. The option of a return to Russia has not been ruled out with Lokomotiv, Anzhi, Rubin and Pavlyuchenko’s own Spartak Moscow all in the frame.
Pavlyuchenko’s contract with Spurs expires in summer 2013, but the team’s coach, Harry Rednapp, still does not feel confident in the Russian, having placed his trust instead in attacking duo Adebayor – Defoe.
“Unfortunately, I don’t have enough game time in Tottenham. Certainly, when you don’t play, it is necessary to search for any other variants and even to reflect on changing club. I want to play, that’s all. I love Tottenham, this team is like a second family to me,” Pavlyuchenko told the RIA news agency.
“But now a situation has developed where I need game time. At least till January I will be in Tottenham. If this situation continues at that point, I will consider hiring myself to other teams. Any option which allows me to play,” he added.
Pavlyuchenko has spent just 17 minutes on the pitch in the Premier League this season. He has played in two Europa League games, scoring one goal.
