KUIBYSHEVSKY ZATON (Tatarstan), July 11 (Itar-Tass) — President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has arrived at the scene of the Bulgaria ship tragedy. He took a boat and went directly to the shipwreck area – 3 kilometres from the riverbank.
Currently, the area of the search operations has been expanded to 25 kilometres downstream, initially it was 20 kilometres.
The official death toll of the Bulgaria ship sinking has risen to eight people – two men, five women and a child, according to spokesperson for the Tatarstan Republic’ s emergencies department Marat Rakhmatullin.
According to the latest information of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) there were 185 people aboard, 80 of them have been saved, the fate of others remains unknown.
The found bodies will be transported to Kazan.
