MOSCOW, August 29 (Itar-Tass) —— Boris Gryzlov, the speaker of the State Duma and head of the Supreme Council of the United Russia Party, believes that there may be changes in the cabinet composition after the election. “I don’t rule out that there may be changes in the federal cabinet composition after the election,” he said in an interview on ER.RU site on Monday.
The head of the United Russia Party in the State Duma also confirmed that prominent federal politicians and ministers might head some regional groups. “There may be governors at the head of groups in some regions and much esteemed people without high administrative posts in others,” he added.
“Voters are aware of our potential, witness the existence of a team that will work in the State Duma and in executive bodies in the interests of the region, of the city, of the settlement,” Gryzlov said.
Answering questions of reporters he expressed the view that the number of factions will not differ much from that in the present convocation. As to the plans of United Russia, “We are not going to lower the mark. We aim to preserve the constitutional majority,” Gryzlov stressed. He also complained that the opposition far from always adheres to fair play in the election campaign. “All we can do ourselves is to play fair,” he said.
