Thirty cars went up in flames in a car park in the central Russian city of Saratov on Friday after a loaded fuel truck crashed nearby, a local emergencies ministry spokesman said.
“The truck driver, who was transporting 20 tons of gasoline, lost control on Shekhurdina street and crashed into a pole. The truck overturned and caught fire,” the spokesman said.
The fire, which broke out at around 5.30 am Moscow Time (01.30 GMT), covered an area of around 300 square meters. Only three employees of a nearby tire shop, which also caught fire, were injured.
The spokesman said the fire has now been brought under control.
