KIEV, July 8 (Itar-Tass) —— The lawyer of Ukraine’s former prime minister Yulia Timoshenko, who is facing office abuse charges, has been hospitalized with heart failure from a Kiev district court.
Medics who arrived at the court building said Nikolai Titarenko could not take part in the court hearing.
Earlier on Friday, Titarenko asked the Pechersky District Court to postpone the hearing till July 11 over his sickness.
“I cannot be an adequate defender of Timoshenko because of my bad physical condition. Please delay the hearing till Monday,” he said.
The court chairman Rodion Kireyev called the ambulance to the court building.
Ukraine’s former prime minister is charged with office abuse while signing gas contracts with Russia in 2009.
