TransContainer’s 2011 Net Profit Soars 300% to $128 Mln

London-listed TransContainer, Russia’s leading rail cargo firm, saw its 2012 IFRS net profit soar 310 percent year on year to 3.84 billion rubles ($128 million), the company said on Thursday.

The company’s revenues increased 35.2 percent to 30.876 billion rubles and operating income grew 160 percent to 5.735 billion rubles.

TransContainer’s EBITDA almost doubled to $8.45 billion rubles.

“TransContainer’s financial results were driven by growth in the volumes of the Company’s operations, favorable market environment and measures taken by the management to enhance business efficiency,” the firm said.
