ASHGABAT, July 5 (Itar-Tass) —— Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow met with Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najar on Tuesday to discuss the response to transnational crime, including terrorism, illegal arms trade, drug trafficking and economic offenses, the presidential press office said.
“Iran attributes large importance to full-scale cooperation with fraternal Turkmenistan, which has acquired a new quality in recent years thanks to the mutual good will,” the minister said while presenting a message from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Berdimuhamedow.
“Turkmenistan also gives much attention to the strengthening and broadening of the traditionally friendly and neighborly relations with Iran,” the president said. He welcomed “the high level of the inter-state partnership, which is confirmed with the constructive political dialog, the steady dynamics in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, intensification of business contacts and creation of beneficial conditions for transboundary trade.”
The sides lauded the dialog on cooperation agreements between law enforcers.
