MOSCOW, December 10 (RIA Novosti) – Two people were seriously hurt on Monday when a Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) helicopter with frontier guards on board crash landed in Abkhazia, the Georgian breakaway republic that Moscow recognized as independent in 2008, the FSB said.
The helicopter with 10 people on board crash landed in mountainous terrain near Lake Ritsa.
“Two people sustained serious injuries,” the FSB said.
A source in Abkhazia’s state security service earlier said seven people were injured and taken to hospital.
