Ukraine to mourn coalmine accidents victims on Sunday.

KIEV, July 30 (Itar-Tass) — Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich has declared July 31 a national day of mourning for the victims of two deadly accidents at Ukrainian coalmines in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions, the presidential press service reported on Saturday.

“In connection with the tragic accidents that occurred on July 29, 2011 at the mines Sukhodolskaya in the Lugansk region and Bazhanov mine in the Donetsk regions and claimed numerous human live, I declare a national day of mourning in Ukraine on July 31,” the press service cited the presidential decree.

State flags will be brought to half-mast on all administrative buildings across the country, all sports and entertainments events will be cancelled.

On Friday, seven miners were killed, and four seriously injured as an elevator collapsed at the Bazhanov mine. Also on Friday, as many as 18 miners were killed in a methane explosion at the Sukhodolskaya mine. Two miners were seriously injured.
