HANOI, August 11 (Itar-Tass) — Vietnam seeks to expand multifaceted cooperation with Russia, including in the economic field and the energy sector, Vice Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai said on Thursday.
Commenting on the results of the talks with Russian State Duma deputy chairman Ivan Melnikov, who arrived in Vietnam on a working visit, Hoang Trung Hai said he praised the development of interaction between Vietnam and Russia. “The parties achieved considerable progress in many fields, including science and technique, trade and the fuel and energy sector,” the vice-prime minister stressed.
“Vietsovpetro JV is a clear example of effective bilateral cooperation and a symbol of strategic partnership,” he said.
The officials of the two countries noted that Russia and Vietnam should continue intensifying cooperation. It will facilitate the strengthening and further promotion of traditional friendship between both countries. Priority attention will be paid to cooperation in education and training of personnel, trade and economic partnership, as well as nuclear interaction.
