The VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC is pursuing a program to renovate its central control laboratory, which includes purchasing several models of modern analytical instruments.
That division has received a LEKO CS 230 analyzer that detects carbon and sulfur in semi-finished products made of titanium, as well as a spectral analysis generator known as Fireball. This machine burns samples of titanium sponge in an electric arc. Subjecting the flame to spectral analysis makes it possible to very accurately detect the presence of contaminants and their composition.
The corporation’s press office told RusBusinessNews that the renovation of Avisma’s central laboratory is part of the corporation’s 2013 investment plan, which also budgets funds for the purchase of new equipment.
