Warehouse with fireworks explodes in Bishkek

BISHKEK, August 4 (Itar-Tass) — There was an explosion on the southern outskirts of Bishkek on Thursday, the republic’s Emergency Situations Ministry told Itar-Tass. According to preliminary data cited by the Ministry, a warehouse with pyrotechnics exploded in the territory of a plant for the production of resins.

“There have been no reports about fatalities of injured so far,” the ministry noted.

The explosion occurred near the Kelechek residential neighbourhood and the largest in Central Asia Dordoi consumer good market. “The causes of the explosion are currently being established, information about the victims ascertained,” the Kyrgyzstan Emergencies Ministry stressed.

Experts do not rule out that the explosion in the warehouse could have been caused by the hot weather that has recently affected Bishkek. On Tuesday-Wednesday, the air temperatures there rose almost to +40 degrees Celsius.
