Wintershall Offers New Asset Exchange to Gazprom

German energy company, Wintershall, has offered to exchange new assets to Gazprom, Alexander Medvedev, the Russian gas giant’s export head, said on Wednesday.

“[Wintershall] has offered new assets [for the exchange] but I will not name them,” Medvedev told reporters.

The two companies are participating in a project to develop the Achimovsky deposits in the Urengoi gas field, in Russia’s north. Wintershall is also a shareholder in Gazprom-initiated Nord Stream and South Stream projects, which are intended to deliver Russian natural gas to Europe bypassing existing transit countries.
