A woman in central Russia was jailed for throwing her three-year-old daughter from the third floor because the latter broke a record player, the Prosecutor General’s Office said on Tuesday.
The girl received serious injuries but survived the fall.
The woman, 27, a resident of the Lipetsk region whose name was not disclosed, was given an eight year prison sentence.
She pleaded not guilty, claiming that the girl had fallen off the balcony on her own.
