SOCHI, August 6 (Itar-Tass) —— World Martial Arts Games will be held in 2013 in Russia, St. Petersburg, Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at the closing ceremony of the Platform S-70 Mixed Martial Arts International Tournament.
“It will be 120 countries, two thousand participants, and we would like to see today’s guests represent their countries in Russia in 2013,” he said. “But the victory will be expected from our fighters.”
The MMA tournament was held in Sochi, under the patronage of the Krasnodar Territory and Russia’s Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy, with the support of Sochi’s administration the Moscow Mayor’s Office’s Department of Physical Education and Sports. The game between Russia’s team, which was represented by athletes from the Sambo-70, and the teams of Brazil ended by a complete victory of Russians with a score of 5:0.
