Yandex employee Egor Kulikov has won $15,000 in the prestigious programming competition TopCoder Open 2012, the competition organizers have announced.
TopCoder Open tests programmers’ abilities in a range of areas: Algorithm, Design, Development, Marathon, Mod Dash and Studio Design. Kulikov won the Algorithm section.
In the final round contestants are given 75 minutes to complete three challenges, the easiest earns them 250 points, and the most difficult – 1,000 points. None of this year’s finalists solved the moderate or difficult challenges in the Algorithm track.
In 2010, Kulikov, who works in Yandex’s St Petersburg office, was named Google Code Jam Champion.
