DONETSK, July 30 (Itar-Tass) —— Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich ordered the government to set up a commission for investigating the latest accident at a coalmine in Makeyevka and provide aid to the families of those killed and injured.
The president also instructed the Prosecutor General’s Office and the National Security Service to “take exhaustive measures to investigate the causes of the accident and ensure response in accordance with legislation”.
Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka is to report back to the president before August 10.
The accident happened at the Bazhanov coalmine on Friday, July 29. As a result, seven miners were killed, four received serious injuries, and four are missing.
