The former Yabloko leader, Grigory Yavlinsky, is to take top billing for the party’s December State Duma election campaign it was announced on Sunday.
“In the general federal section 10 candidates have been chosen. Party founder Grigory Yavlinsky has been chosen to lead the list, party chairman Sergei Mitrokhin is taking second place and the third position has been taken by the leader of the internal fraction Green Russia, Alexei Yablokov,” RIA Novosti quoted Yablokov as saying on Sunday. The party list was decided upon at 3:45 am on Sunday morning after four hours of deliberations. A party source said that Delovaya Rossiya chairman Boris Titov was originally tapped for the third position but was dropped in favor of Yablokov after party deliberations.
