Both of the terminals at St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport were being examined in connection with a bomb threat Friday morning, paralyzing the transport hub, Fontanka.ru reported.

According to the Interior Ministry, they began evacuating the airport after an anonymous caller said that explosives had been placed at the airport.

“The transport police arrived on the scene immediately and began coordinating their efforts with all of the airport services concerned,” said a ministry spokesperson. “Passengers and airport staff have been evacuated from both terminals.”

Police bomb squads were reported to be using trained dogs to search the airport.

Flights in and out of Pulkovo 2 have been suspended and delays were displayed on the airport website for flights departing from Pulkovo 2 through 10:55 a.m. Flights continued to arrive at Pulkovo 1 throughout the morning, according to the airport website.

UPDATE: RIA Novosti reports that flights at Pulkovo 2 have resumed. Pulkovo 1 remains closed according to a 10:14 a.m. update by the news agency. Airport officials are quoted as saying that police have informed them that no explosives were discovered.
