Egyptians vote in constitutional referendum

Egyptians have voted in a referendum Saturday on constitutional changes, designed to usher in free legislative and presidential elections,  limit a President to two four-year terms and scrap the decades-old emergency laws that enabled the ousted President Hosni Mubarak to run a virtual police state.

Under the proposed changes, emergency laws shall now require parliamentary approval.

Mubarak resigned in February after 18 days of nationwide protests demanding his ouster.
