A French fighter jet shot down a Libyan warplane over the city of Misurata on Thursday as allies claimed that Libya had violated the UN Security Council no-fly zone resolution, the ABC network reported.
According to Libya’s state TV, the civilian death toll is mounting in this North African country as Operation Odyssey Dawn enters its fifth day.
Taking part in the operation are international coalition forces from 13 countries , including the United States, Britain and France.
