The International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, has said it will send experts to Japan in the next two days to monitor radiation levels at the damaged Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant.
The IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano demanded during his meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan in Tokyo that the agency be provided full information on the situation at the nuclear complex, which is teetering on the brink of a disaster.
The recent destructive earthquake led to several blasts at the nuclear station and a release of radiation.
Experts believe that Tokyo has been withholding the best part of available information, which makes it more difficult for other countries to protect themselves from likely exposure.
