Moscow proposes to hold special talks during the Geneva-II conference which would gather representatives of the US, UN, and all Syrian sides, a senior Russian diplomat said Monday.

Russian diplomats approached the negotiations process “in a highly creative way” and they suggested that UN-Arab League Special Envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi could contact with Russian, US, and Syrian delegation “either separately or together”, Xinhua quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov as telling reporters.

Meanwhile, a Russia-US-UN meeting was scheduled for Feb 14, with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov to head the Russian delegation, Bogdanov said, adding the US delegation will be led by Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman.

Bogdanov said Russia and the US will control the negotiations process “constantly and devotedly”.
