Russian schoolchildren have brought about a thousand origami paper cranes to Japan’s Consulate General in Vladivostok as a gesture of sympathy with the Japanese people.
In Japan, it is commonly believed that folding 1,000 paper cranes can make your wish come true.
“We wish and hope the Japanese can get through this soon,” one of the action’s participants said.
Residents of Vladivostok have been bringing flowers and condolence letters to the Consulate General’s office for already a week.
