3 Russians killed in traffic accident in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK, August 5 (Itar-Tass) — Three Russian nationals were killed in a traffic accident in Kyrgyzstan late on Thursday, a spokesman for Kyrgyzstan’s emergencies ministry told Itar-Tass.

“The accident took place in the Issyk-Kul region, when a Mercedes minivan rammed into a Honda car,” the spokesman said. Three Russians who were inside the Honda car died. Two Kyrgyz citizens were injured.

“The three dead persons are likely to be members of one family, since they all had the same last name, the Kuzmins. They all were born and resided in Russia’s Rostov region,” the spokesman said.

Up to one million tourists, including Russians, visit Lake Issyk-Kul in summer.
