At least one person died and 94 people went missing after a cruise ship sank on the Volga River, the regional emergencies center said on Sunday.
“Seventy-eight people have been rescued by the passing ship Arabella. One woman died,” the emergencies center said.
The cruise ship Bulgaria sank at 13:58 Moscow time (09:58 GMT) on Sunday near the village of Syukeyevo in the Kansko-Ustinovsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan.
A helicopter and two rescue boats are currently working on the scene of the incident.
