At least seven people have died with another 22 injured in a car accident in Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, local police representative said.
“The accident occurred at about 16:25 Moscow time [13:25 GMT] in Karabudahtenskiy district of Dagestan,” the spokesman said. “Because of yet unclear reasons Gazelle mini-bus collided with VAZ-21014.” As a result of the accident, seven people died and 22 hospitalized.
The investigation into causes of the crash is ongoing.
According to statistics, 30,000 people lose their lives in traffic accidents every year in Russia due to the poor state of highway networks and reckless driving.
