DOMBAI, August 1 (Itar-Tass) —— The Caucasus forum of Russian youth closed in Dombai, a highland resort of Karachai-Cherkessia, on Sunday. The forum was held since July 24.
“The forum was very fruitful in terms of the search for solutions to the problems facing the youth in interethnic and inter-confessional communication, spiritual and moral upbringing, the revival of culture and the creation of the civil society,” the chairman of the presidium of the Russian Congress of the Peoples of the Caucasus Aslanbek Paskachev summed up the forum results to Itar-Tass on Sunday.
“At 16 round-table meetings on five guidelines we gave an opportunity to the youth to hear various experts, discuss various points of views and debate to find the truth,” Paskachev went on to say. The forum results were laid down in a resolution, which was approved by 109 representatives of public organizations at the forum on Sunday. The resolution will be presented to the country’s leadership, Paskachev noted. He emphasized that among the major conclusions drawn at the forum is the revival of culture and the well-being of a state-forming Russian people that will influence in the best way the situation of all peoples in Russia. Meanwhile, it is very important to rule out numerous cases of history distortion, its falsification and aggrandizement or humiliation of any people. Unfortunately these violations are made in history teaching, media publications and the activities of public organizations.
It is also important that common points were found in Dombai with representatives of nationalistic organizations, including those radical and the foundations for joint work were made. Young people from various regions got acquainted and made friends in the informal situation. They will return to their regions and will spread the values and ideas voiced at the forum.
The Dombai forum was held under the motto “Better together!” The forum brought together about 250 activists aged from 18 to 35 years from 109 youth public organizations in the Far East, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Stavropol Territory, the Rostov Region, Tatarstan, Buryatia, the Volga Region and the republics of the North Caucasus.
