MOSCOW, July 31 (Itar-Tass) —— The number of wildfires in Russia reduced a lot over the past day, the Emergency Situations Ministry told Itar-Tass.
“The number of wildfires dropped by 34, while the wildfire area reduced by almost 4,000 hectares,” the ministry said.
Meanwhile, Russia still has 102 wildfires, 17 of them large. “A total of 424 hectares are ablaze. Fires are confined on more than 12,500 hectares,” the ministry said.
Almost 12,000 people are putting out the blaze.
“The wildfire rate is the highest in the Khanty-Mansi autonomous district, the Komi Republic and the Arkhangelsk region,” the ministry said.
Wildfires in northwestern Russia shrank by more than 2,000 hectares over the past day.
“Weathermen have given wildfire alert for Yakutia, the Khabarovsk territory, Amur and Sakhalin regions, the Altai territory, Orenburg, Samara and Saratov regions, Bashkortostan, Astrakhan, Volgograd and Rostov regions, the Krasnodar territory, Adygeya, the Stavropol territory, Dagestan, Ingushetia, North Ossetia – Alania, Chechnya, Lipetsk, Voronezh and Yaroslavl regions,” the ministry said.
